For Halloween, the Navigeaters go zombie and munch on animal brains, digging into cow, lamb and guinea pig noggins. Topping the menu is tempura-fried cow brains! Then it’s onto a traditional Greek spit-roasted lamb head, a tiny guinea pig brain as they’d eat in Ecuador and finally the traditional French dish cervelle de veau—aka calf brains cooked with butter and capers. German Cuisine: Bavarian Sausage Party for Oktoberfest – Navigeaters

To celebrate Oktoberfest, the Navigeaters went to East Village bierhaus Zum Schneider, where they attempted to zuzeln a weisswurst (the traditional Bavarian method of sucking the meat out of the casing). Also on the menu: sliced radi (radish), obatza cheese spread, and Nuremberg wurst. And, of course, lots and lots of weiss beer. Prost! Burmese Cuisine: Fish Soup for Breakfast – Navigeaters

For a home-cooked taste of Myanmar, the Navigeaters visited a Burmese church picnic in Queens. On the menu: Mohinga, the country’s national dish which is a hearty fish soup… traditionally eaten for breakfast. Also on hand was a salad made of tea leaves (Lahpet Thohk), a spicy medley of pig organs (Wet thar dote htoe) and a milkshake festooned with tapiocas and jellos (Falooda). Chinese Cuisine: Eating Drunken Shrimp, Duck Tongue and Goose Web – Navigeaters

The Navigeaters head to Brooklyn’s little-known Chinatown to eat one of China’s most notorious dishes—drunken shrimp. For the dish, the shrimp are stunned with alcohol then eaten alive.
